7th Deomali National Theatre Festival by Nandanik on Aug 2, 3

Koraput-based theatre group ‘Nandanik’ is organizing the 7th edition of the festival on August 2 and 3 at Municipal Auditorium in Koraput.

“Four plays in Odia, Hindi and Bangla will be staged in this festival. The curtain raiser of the festival will be held through an online Foundation Day Lecture by Padma Shri Shekhar Sen, an internationally reputed eminent theatrician-singer on August 1,” said Monideepa Gupta, Secretary of the troup.

Apart from the plays Nandanik, in association with Asim Basu Foundation, Bhubaneswar will also present the 5th Asim Basu Award 2022 to Ajay Edding of Semiliguda. The award, named after late Asim Basu-Odisha’s eminent Theatre & Literary personality, is conferred annually to an young theatre artist of Koraput region as a mark of encouragement, she said.

Nandanik, a theatre group based in Koraput, Odisha has been organizing the Deomali National Theatre Festival since 2016.
