Bhubaneswar traffic update for Republic Day-2023

The State Level Republic Day Parade will be organized on January 26 at Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Bhubaneswar.

People from different parts of Bhubaneswar and other places shall come to witness the Republic Day Parade. Huge congregation is expected which may cause serious traffic congestion around Mahatma Gandhi.

VIPs and other dignitaries will also attend the function. The rehearsal parade shall be held on January 22 and 23from 02.00 P.M. to 05.30 P.M. and 24.01.2023 from 07.00 A.M. to 10.30 A.M. at Mahatma Gandhi Marg.

State-level Republic day will be organized at Mahatma Gandhi Marg on 26th. Therefore, the practice parade is going to be held from 22nd to 24th.

The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate has issued orders in the interest of public safety, traffic and convenience.

1. No heavy vehicle shall be allowed to ply on Janpath from Ram Mandir to Rajmahal and vice versa on 26.01.2023 from 06.30 AM onwards till the parade is over. The light vehicles shall be allowed to ply on Janpath but from Master Canteen Square No vehicles shall be allowed to ply on Mahatma Gandhi Marg from 06.30 AM onwards till the Parade is over.

2. No vehicle shall be allowed to come towards Rabindra Mandap crossing from Housing Board crossing side from 06.30 AM onwards on 26.01.2023 & shall be diverted at Keshari Talkies crossing towards the left side lane to proceed for official work and residents.

3. No vehicle shall be allowed to move towards PMG Square from A.G. square side from 06.30 AM onwards on 26.01.2023 & shall be diverted from Jaydcv Bhawan crossing towards IDCOL auditorium side lane to proceed for official work and residents.

4. Vehicles coming from 120 Infantry Battalion crossing shall be diverted towards Unit-4 at MLA colony crossing from 06.30 AM onwards on 26.01.2023.

5. All the lanes touching Mahatma Gandhi Marg shall be sealed & only pedestrians shall be allowed to go to Mahatma Gandhi Marg.

6. The aforesaid restrictions on traffic movement shall also be imposed during Rehearsal Parade on 22/23.01.2023 between 02.00 PM to 05.30 PM and on 24.01.2023 between 07.00 AM to 10.30 AM.

7. Selling of Gas Balloon is strictly prohibited in the area between PMG square and Master Canteen square on 26.01.2023 from 06.30 AM till the Parade is over.
