Jharsuguda By-lection 2023: Ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Friday announced late Naba Das’s daughter Dipali Das as its candidate for the ensuing May 10 Jharsuguda by-election.
The by-election was necessitated after the brutal killing of sitting MLA and the then Health Minister Naba Das on January 29. . According to the ECI, the by-poll will be held on May 10.
The ECI informed that the Gazette notification for by-election will be issued on April 13. The last for nomination filing is April 20 and the scrutiny of the nominations will be conducted on April 21.
Similarly, the candidates can withdraw their papers before April 24. The Counting of the vote will be done on May 13 and the election will be completed by May 15.
The then Health Minister was killed by a police assistant sub-inspection in Brajarajnagar on January 29.
