Registration for Subhadra Yojana begins: Know where to apply

The Odisha government has initiated the registration process for the much-anticipated Subhadra Yojana, a welfare scheme aimed at empowering women across the state. This initiative is a part of the government’s continued efforts to provide financial support and upliftment opportunities to women, particularly those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

How to Register for Subhadra Yojana

Starting today, forms for Subhadra Yojana are readily available at various locations, including Anganwadi centres, Block offices, Mo Seva Kendras, and Jan Seva Kendras. Applicants can collect these forms free of cost. Once the form is filled out, it must be submitted at the nearest Mo Seva Kendra or Common Seva Kendra.

The scheme is set to officially launch on September 17, 2024.

Benefits of Subhadra Yojana

The Subhadra Yojana aims to provide financial assistance to women beneficiaries in Odisha. Under the scheme, each beneficiary will receive a total of Rs. 10,000 annually, credited in two installments directly into their bank accounts. The disbursements will occur on Raksha Bandhan and International Women’s Day (March 8). Over a five-year period, a total of Rs. 50,000 will be credited to each beneficiary’s account.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the benefits under Subhadra Yojana, women must meet the following criteria:

  • Residency: The applicant must be a resident of Odisha.
  • Income and Coverage: The applicant should either be covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) or the State Food Security Scheme (SFSS). Alternatively, any woman from a family without an NFSA or SFSS card can apply if her family income is not more than Rs. 2.50 lakh per annum.
  • Age: The applicant must be between 21 and 60 years of age. For the financial year 2024-25, eligible women must have been born between July 2, 1964, and July 1, 2003. The date of birth as recorded on the Aadhaar card will be used for age verification.

Women who turn 21 after July 1, 2024, will be eligible to receive Rs. 10,000 per year for the remaining years of the scheme. Women who turn 60 after this date will not receive benefits beyond their 60th birthday.
