CM Kisan Yojana in Odisha: Rs 925 crore for 46 lakh farmers


Sambalpur: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today launched the CM Kisan Yojana in Odisha, on the occasion of Nuakhai.

The Chief Minister also launched the CM Kisan portal.

The official launching took place at Gangadhar Meher University auditorium here. The assistance will be transferred to the bank accounts of the farmers.

“Around 46 lakh farmers including landless farmers will receive Rs 925 crore on the occasion under the CM Kisan Yojana,” said Majhi while addressing the gathering.

He said the assistance will be used for purchasing farming equipments and fertilizer.

The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to farmers who are not covered under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana. Eligible farmers will receive a total of Rs 4,000 in two phases.

The first instalment of Rs 2,000 will be distributed on Nuakhai, and the remaining Rs 2,000 will be provided on Akshaya Tritiya.

In addition, the scheme will also benefit landless farmers who were excluded from the PM Kisan Yojana. The government aims to extend support to this section of the farming community through the CM Kisan Yojana.

The Chief Minister said more farmers will be included under the scheme in the coming days.

The previous BJD government led by Naveen Patnaik had launched Kalia Yojana which was replaced as CM Kisan by the present BJP government.
