Bhubaneswar: Learning is a continuous process and students should strive to acquire knowledge at every opportunity, Dr. Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi, Member of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), said here on Monday.
Students studying law need to know that it is a complex profession and they should have enough patience for the arduous journey, Dr. Justice Sarangi said while addressing students of law at the SOA National Institute of Law (SNIL), faculty of legal studies of the Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA).
Dr. Justice Sarangi, who is the former Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court and former Judge of Orissa High Court, was speaking as the chief guest at ‘Justicia 3.0-2025’, the annual function of SNIL. Advising students to embrace discipline in life, he said that they should not get elated at success and should strive for greater success.
Dr. Justice Sarangi also congratulated the institute as five of its students had come out successful in the 2023 Odisha Judicial Services Examination the results of which were published recently. Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, Vice-Chancellor of SOA, who presided over the function, said that students would do better if they had commitment to their profession.
The program was also addressed by Prof. S.A.K. Azad, Dean of SNIL, and Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Dean (Students’ Welfare). Mr. Akash Trikha, Assistant Professor, proposed the vote of thanks. SOA’s Pro-Vice Chancellor and Registrar Prof. Bibhuti Bhushan Pradhan, Dean of the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Prof. Santosh Kumar Rout, Dean of Institute of Veterinary Sciences Prof. Susanta Kumar Das, Dean of School of Hotel Management Prof. Susanta Ranjan Chaini, SOA’s Director, International Relations, Mr. Mahendra Prasad, faculty members, senior officials of SOA and students were present.
