Considering the project proposals, Padhi directed the Urban Housing Mission to make appropriate utilisation of the open space provided for urban housing projects.
A total number of 23911 housing units were approved for these cities.
Director of Urban Housing Mission Sachin R. Yadhav said these 23911 housing units would be constructed with financial support from Centre, Odisha government and beneficiary contribution.
The concerned ULB would develop necessary basic infrastructure. The cost per dwelling unit would be around Rs.3 lakhs. Out which Centre and state government would provide Rs.2 lakhs. The balance money would be the beneficiary contribution, said an official.
The beneficiary could contribute his labour towards this cost. Those in dire need would also be linked with the bank loan for this contribution. The loan would be payable in very easy instalments.
