BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha police on Sunday sounded high alert across the state for Republic Day celebrations citing security threats during the period.
It has also made elaborate security arrangements in the capital city to avoid any untoward incident.
“High alert have been sounded across the state, and all the district superintendents of police and collectors have been asked to stay alerted during the Republic Day celebrations,” said DGP KB Singh.
He said extra care would be taken for Maoist-affected districts.
He said four-tier security arrangement had been made in the capital city, and 22 platoons of police forces would be deployed during the celebration.
