Bhubaneswar: A five-year-old differently-abled girl was allegedly raped by a relative in Bhubaneswar, said police on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at Mahisakhal under Badagada police limits on Tuesday.
The accused, a 13-year-old boy has been arrested by the police.
The matter came to light after a neighbour spotted the girl lying unconscious on the floor with her mouth gagged and blood gushing out of her genitals.
The neighbour informed her parents following which a complaint was lodged with Badagada police on Tuesday night.
A three-member team of doctors led by an assistant professor at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack is treating the girl.
A case has been registered under Section 376/(1) (2) of IPC and Section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
