Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik, who had launched a hunger strike at Puri protesting beach pollution, has been admitted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar after he fell ill on Thursday.

Versatile Odia actor Minaketan Das, who enthralled the audience for long through his acting, breathed his last at his Atala residence in Balianta at 2:35 AM on Saturday. He was 56.
