BHUBANESWAR: Odia actor Tatwa Prakash Satapathy alias Papu Pom Pom has been arrested on sexual exploitation charges, said a senior police official on Thursday.
Besides, his associate Pradeep Swain has been arrested from Nimapara area in Puri.
The Commissionerate Police are interrogating Papu at an undisclosed place about his alleged role in exploiting a minor girl sexually by in the guise of giving a break in films, the official said.
He said a formal declaration would be made soon.
Notably, the ruling BJD on Wednesday expelled the popular comedian from the party. He had joined BJD before 2014 elections and contested unsuccessfully from Champua Assembly segment on BJD ticket.
Earlier on Thursday, police had issued a notice to Papu to appear before it.
A social organisation has lodged an FIR with Mahila Police Station here alleging that Papu has sexually exploited a minor girl by giving false promise to her to cast in films.

But Producer Of Brajaraj Movies Mr Sanjay Nayak stated contrary,that actresses were trying to convince him to spend nights in hotel instead to give chance them in his movies.
