BHUBANESWAR: A Central team arrived in Odisha started visiting the proposed locations for the permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Ganjam district on Tuesday.
The team to be led by L N Gupta principal secretary Skill Development & Technical Education of the state government with director of Department of Higher Education of Union MHRD, Rina Sonowal Kouli, director IISER Bhopal Prof. Vinod Kumar Singh, director IIT Bhubaneswar Ratnam V Raja Kumar and chief engineer CPWD Umesh Mishra are visiting the two sites identified for locating the permanent campus and three sites identified for locating the temporary campus of the premier institute.
The Ganjam administration has identified 200 acres of land at Palur hills and another 80 acres patch at Laudigaon both under Kanisi mouza for locating the permanent campus of proposed IISER.
A final decision on the location of the permanent campus and temporary campus would be taken unanimously after the team’s visit.
