BHUBANESWAR: The Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (IED), a training institute for skill development and entrepreneurship of Odisha MSME department, may get a national tag as a designated central team has expressed satisfaction to upgrade it to a national institute.
An expert team of Union Ministry Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, which visited the IED situated at Mancheswar Industrial Estate in the capital city on Thursday, has expressed satisfaction over the infrastructure facilities in the institute, said MSME department sources.
IED is situated on 2.50 acres of land In Mancheswar industrial area having huge infrastructures such as 50,000 sqft concrete building, state of the art classrooms, well-developed computer lab and permanent faculties.
The team headed by the deputy secretary of the ministry, B.K. Ray, is expected to submit a favourable report to the ministry, sources added.
A central team from the ministry of MSME had visited this institution 4 months before.
MSME Minister Jogendra Behera had earlier requested Union MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra to make this institution of national repute like National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) Noida and National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (NIMSME), Hyderabad.
