YB Khurania is new Police Commissioner

BHUBANESWAR: In a major reshuffle at senior IPS level, the Odisha government on Thursday appointed 1990 batch IPS Y B Khurania as new twin city Police Commissioner by promoting 1986 batch IPS officer RP Sharma to DGP rank.

Khurania was Special Director Vigilance.

The government also promoted Crime Branch ADG BK Sharma to DGP rank.

According to sources, while R P Sharma has been appointed as new Director General Vigilance, w B K Sharma has been posted as Special DGP, Crime.

Notably, the state government had promoted twelve Indian Police Services (IPS) officers on January 12.

1991 batch IPS Debasis Panigrahi was promoted to the rank of ADG. 1998 batch IPS Amitabh Thakur, Dayal Gangwar and N B Bharathi were promoted to the rank of IG, sources added.
