151 students appearing HSC exam booked for malpractice on day 1


CUTTACK: While the examination for high school certificate (HSC) began peacefully, a total of 151 candidates caught while indulging in malpractice on Monday.

Over six lakh students appear in the annual HSC examinations conducted by Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha.

BSE sources said 151 students caught while indulging in malpractice. On the first day, the students appeared for Odia subject (MIL).

The School and Mass Education department of Odisha government with the help of police have made elaborate security arrangements for the smooth conduct of the examinations in 2882 centres across the state.

While question papers have been dispatched to 305 nodal centres, the board has formed 54 five-tier flying squads in district-level and 50 squads in the board level to check malpractice during the examinations.

School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra said elaborate security arrangements had been made for smooth conduct of the HSC examinations in the state.
