Odisha govt accords in-principle nod to 3 projects worth Rs 420.35 cr


BHUBANESWAR: The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) of Odisha government on Tuesday accorded in-principle nod to three projects with an investment of Rs.420.35 crore.

The SLSWCA meeting held under the chairmanship of chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi approved the proposals.

Grid Construction Ltd has proposed to set up aluminium conductors 60000 IPA manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs 127.35 crore in the aluminium park at Angul, said Kalyan Mohanty, general manager of Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Orissa Limited (IPICOL.

The unit would provide direct employment to 50 persons.

Mohanty said SOM Distilleries and Breweries Odisha Pvt Ltd. proposed to set up 10 lakh hectoliters capacity brewing industry and 10.8 lakh hectoliters per annum capacity bottling plant near Khordha with a total investment of Rs.193 crore.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd proposed to set up an LPG bottling plant at Bolangir with a total investment of Rs.100 crore, he added.

These two plants are expected to create 493 direct and indirect employment opportunities.

Padhi advised IPICOL and state level technical committee to promote more employment intensive and downstream industries in the state.

The chief secretary along with the members of the State Project Monitoring Group (SPMG) also reviewed the progress of earlier approved investment proposals of Nalco, Aditya Birla, Bhusan Steel, OPGC, Emami Cement and others.

The issues relating to land acquisition, forest diversion, construction of approach road, DGPS survey, power supply, use of water, etc. were discussed and resolved in the meeting.
