BHUBANESWAR: Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday rubbished the allegations made by the leader of opposition over irregularities in recruitment of assistant executive engineer (AAE) in the state.
He said the allegations of the leader of the opposition are not based on fact.
“I understand that the Leader of Opposition made a reference to the recruitment of Assistant Executive Engineers and raised some allegations. I would like to place on record that the suggestion received in Chief Minister’s Twitter Account was forwarded to General Administration Department, which in turn referred the same to OPSC,” he said.
The chief minister said, in response, OPSC sent a copy of the Counter filed by them before the Odisha Administrative Tribunal (OAT) along with the relevant inquiry reports of Ganjam district collector and ADM, Bhubaneswar, which was received on February 8 this year.
“After this, the first batch of appointment orders were distributed on March 26. Hence, the issue raised by Leader of the Opposition is not based on facts,” said the chief minister.
Alleging that there was a scam in the recruitment process of the engineers, Opposition leader Narasingh Mishra had on Wednesday demanded a clarification from the chief minister over the recruitment process.
