Odisha Knowledge Hub: Bagchi Focused On Visionary Leadership At Individual Level

BHUBANESWAR: 3rd Lecture of Odisha Knowledge Hub (OKH) lecture series delivered by famous Odia IT expert and scholar Dr Subroto Bagchi on Saturday focused on the topic “Platform & Purpose”.

Chief minister Naveen Patnaik participated in the lecture from his office over video conferencing and wished it a grand success.

Senior ministers, chief secretary along with secretaries and senior officers of the state participated in the deliberations.

 Dr Bagchi elaborated that leadership depends on the platform from which a person or an institution operates and the purpose that the person or institution maintains.

He said that the impact made by a person or institution over a period of time defines the purpose.

The platform of an individual is defined by his educational background, experience, network and net worth, said Bagchi and added that persons with ‘high purpose’ innovate new paths which others follow.

The visionary leadership of persons with ‘high purpose’ brings about positive revolutionary changes making the world a better place to live. The visionary leaders get the spirit to work from the universe because of the high purpose itself, said the IT expert.

Development Commissioner R. Balakrishnan said that when the state is celebrating its 80th foundation day and birth centenary of the legendary leader Biju Pattanaik, it is a matter of pride that an Odia scholar and entrepreneur addresses the state administration in OKH lecture series.
