BHUBANESWAR: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar has increased its student intake capacity to 260 in the academic year starting this July.
Besides, a new department ‘Electronics and Communication Engineering’ has been introduced, said IIT-Bhubaneswar Director RV Rajkumar.
He said the number of seats had been increased to 260 from the intake capacity of 180 last year.
The director said IIT Bhubaneswar would continue to excel in the field of education in the coming years.
Notably, IIT-Bhubaneswar has been ranked 26th in the first ever all-India ranking of national institutions by Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD)
While NIT-Rourkela came on top in the state with an overall national ranking of 19, IIT-Bhubaneswar, one of the young IITs, has been ranked 26th.
