BHUBANESWAR: Senior BJD leader and Excise Minister Damodar Rout on Wednesday took a jibe at his minister colleague Sanjay Dasburma, who is sinking deep in the chit fund quagmire with each passing day.
He said in politics, one should try his best to safeguard his honour and does not indulge in acquiring wealth and power.
Taking a dig at Dasburma indirectly, Rout said, “Alo Sakhi Apana Mahat Ape Rakhi (It is better to keep one’s counsel).”
He also said that a party cannot be blamed for the misdemeanours of an individual.
Rout said people are not brought to a party after a blood test.
“If a person is found guilty of committing any crime, the party should not be blamed as it is a matter of an individual, not the party,” said the excise minister.
He also demanded that the CBI should complete its investigation into the chit fund scam case within a specified time instead of prolonging the probe unnecessarily.
