Former OCA secretary Ashirbad Behera arrested by CBI in chit fund scam

Odisha Olympic Association Land Encroachment Case: No Cheer For Ashirbad

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld its earlier verdict asking Ashirbad Behera to stay away from general secretary post of Odisha Olympic Association (OOA) until next hearing scheduled to be held on July 13.

Earlier hearing a controversial land encroachment case by the OOA, the court had on March 9 directed Behera to stay away from the post and asked the joint secretary of the association to take charge as general secretary.

Behera was holding the post for the last 28 years.

Notably, the court had directed the Orissa High Court to form a three-member committee of judges to probe the alleged land encroachment by the OOA, which has built Barabati Palace for holding marriages and reception parties and 23 shops on the encroached land.
