BHUBANESWAR: The blistering heat wave condition prevailed in most parts of Odisha as 17 places recorded temperature above 40 degree Celsius on Friday while unofficial deaths due to sunstroke have reached 31 so far in the state.
Western Odisha is on the boil with Sonepur recording highest temperature of 45.8 degree Celsius while Titlagarh recorded 45.7 degrees and both Bhawanipatna and Sundargarh recorded 44.5 degrees.
Bhubaneswar recorded 40.2 degree Celsius.
Bhubaneswar Met department director Sarat Chandra Sahu said that the heat wave would continue in the state till week.
