BHUBANESWAR: People in twin city got the much needed relief from the scorching sun after hailstorm lashed several parts of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar on Friday.
Even though they experienced heat wave till 1 pm, the hailstorm brought cheer to the denizens, who were reeling under the sun since past several days.
The people came out from their houses to enjoy the drizzle with a strong breeze that gave them relief from the grueling summer. The drizzling brought down the mercury in the two cities.
Meanwhile, two flights could not land at Biju Patnaik International Airport here due to bad weather condition and the flights were forced to land at Kolkata airport.
Sources said while one flight of Air India was coming from Varanasi, another flight was coming from Bengaluru.
