Youth Arrested For Issuing Forged I Cards To Construction Workers


SAMBALPUR: The Sambalpur police have arrested a youth for issuing forged worker identity cards to the construction workers of the rural areas.

The youth identified as Pramod Mirdha, whose native comes under Sadar police station area of the district, issued false Identity cards belonging to the people of Sasan police station area.

At the same time, he also collected a huge amount of money from 48 labourers to give them I Cards.

IIC of Sasan Police station Sarangadhar Panigrahi said when the workers –both male and female didn’t get the benefits of these cards, they raised doubts and intimated police about the matter.

“We enquired the matter and also consulted with the labour department. We got confirmed that all the cards were false. Hence, we arrested Mirdha,” he informed.

Police said his wife was also helping him in this work, nd people believed him because a lady was involved in this matter.

So it became easier for Mirdha to convince people and collect money for issue of cards, police added.
