Balasore Gets Traffic Police Station


BALASORE:  Balasore has finally got a traffic police station. The traffic police station began its operation from a temporary establishment, which was earlier functioning as Sadar police station.

The traffic police station was inaugurated by the DIG, Eastern Range, Ghanshyam Upadhyay while SP Balasore Niti Sekhar, ZP president Umilata Das, the ADM Manmath Pani were present.

The police station will be managed by one each officer in the rank of Inspector, assistant sub-inspector, 15 constables and 40 home guards.

 “As of now, it would be operative from this temporary establishment with adequate manpower until the time we have our building.  The request has been made to the district administration to provide land in a prime location to accommodate the police station requirement. The manpower may be increased if required. The PCR vans would also be at the police station ” said Balasore SP Niti Sekhar.

Deputy inspector general Ghanshyam Upadhyay said “With the surging of many vehicles in the town, effective traffic management is need of the hour. However there is a need of awareness  especially among the young mass about the traffic rules and  regulations.”

He said traffic as a subject should be compulsorily included in study curriculum.
