2 Killed, 1 Injured In Road Accident In Rourkela

ROURKELA: Two youths  were killed and  a  woman critically injured  in a  road accident in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Monday midnight, said police on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at Rajgangpur of Sundargarh on Monday night.

Rajgangpur police  after conducting  post mortem  of two  deceased have  handed over  the two  bodies to  their family members.

Sources said,  some locals of  Rajgangpur noticed  two dead  bodies and  a  woman critically injured lying  at  Kumarkela under  Ward  No.15  of  Rajgangpur on Tuesday morning.

Police went to the spot after the locals informed about  the accident.

The two  deceased have been identified  as  Sushil  Saha(35)  and  Virendra  Kumar  Chauhan(32),  both resident of  Rajgangpur.  Critically injured  woman Kabita Acharia(45) also is a  resident of  Rajgangpur.

Police sent  the injured  woman to  Rajgangpur hospital  for treatment.  She has  been referred to Rourkela Govt.hospital on  Tuesday afternoon.

Sources said the incident occurred when Sushil, Virendra and Kabita were  returning by a  bike.

While they were returning,  their bike  dashed a  tree near  Kumarkela following  which they  fell there. Sushil and  Virendra died on the  spot and  Kabita sustained  injuries.
