Biju Birth Centenary Memorial Marathon In Every Districts

BHUBANESWAR: The ruling BJD will organise Biju birth centenary memorial marathon in every district between July 19 and August 9.

A decision in this regard was taken at the Biju birth centenary committee meeting held at party headquarters here Monday. The marathon will begin at Gandhi Ghat at Puri July 19 and culminate at Mukti Sangram Pitha Eram August 9.

The marathon will cover the birth and workplaces of freedom fighters and martyrs Vir Surendra Sai, Madhab Singh, Birsa Munda, Baji Rout, Raghu-Dibakar and Malati Debi among others. Besides, the Biju Yuva Janata Dal will organise seminars on ‘Vision 2036 and Odisha of Biju Babu’s dreams’ in Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur, Bhawanipatna, Berhampur, Bolangir, Baripada, Jeypore and other places.

Such seminars will be organised at Biju Chhatra Janata Dal in universities across the state. The ruling party has stated that it would seek cooperation from Oriya Diasporas and Oriya organisations functioning outside Odisha as well as abroad to celebrate the former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik’s birth centenary internationally.
