BHUBANESWAR: Several parts of Odisha on Friday experienced pre-monsoon rain providing respite from the blistering heat wave.
The capital city Bhubaneswar recorded 60 mm rainfall on Friday. Cloudy sky prevailed in almost all districts as monsoon is likely hit the state By June 15.
Bhubaneswar Met Department director Sarat Chandra Sahu said the south-west monsoon will arrive in Kerala in the second week of June.
He said the state would receive more rainfall than normal that would provide a better environment for the agriculture sector.
Notably, Odisha experienced severe drought situation last year affecting 27 districts in the state.
