Bomb Hurled To Kendrapada Zilla Parisad President’s Office

KENDRAPADA: Some unidentified miscreants had hurled bomb to the Zilla Parishad president Sridhar Swain’s office chamber on Wednesday in broad daylight.

The office is located at District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) in Kendrapada. Sridhar was not present at DRDA during the incident.

The miscreants fled from the spot after hurling a bomb, said police. The employees got panicked following the incident.

Kendrapara Town police rushed to the spot to investigate. The police asked the scientific team to aid them, said Sanjeev Mohanty, Kendrapara Town police station IIC.

Mamatarani Dhal, the vice president of Zilla Parishad, said that they were feeling insecure to come to the DRDA following the incident.

IIC Mohanty clarified after the preliminary investigation that it was not a bomb but a cracker.

The reason behind hurling cracker on the backside of the DRDA office is yet to be ascertained. Kendrapara Town police have registered a case under Section 9(B) Indian Explosive Act and is conducting an inquiry. No arrest has been made so far.
