Ollywood Casting Couch: Police Issues Notice To 6 Accused

BHUBANESWAR: The Commissionerate Police on Monday issued notices to 6 persons following the complaint filed by Ollywood actress Sharmistha on casting couch issue.

The police issued notices to producers Bini Samal and Subrat Nayak and directors Tapas Saragharia, Nihar Samal and Chandi Parija. Besides, it issued a notice to event manager Bapi Jena.

Police Commissioner YB Khurania informed that they had been asked to appear before police to record their statements.

They will record their statements on the allegations levelled by the actress.

The police also recorded the statement of Sharmistha on Monday.

Notably, she had lodged a complaint with the Mahila Police Station accusing them of seeking sexual favour to give her role in films.

Meanwhile, producer Bini Samal refuted the allegations levelled by the actor. She said the allegations were false and baseless.
