Odisha HSC Exam-2018: Govt directs to check malpractices


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday directed all the district collectors and SPs to check malpractices during the High School Certificate Examinations-2018 (Odisha HSC Exam-2018) this year.

Chairing a preparatory meeting for the annual Odisha HSC Exam-2018 (Matric), Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi instructed the district collectors and SPs through video conferencing to take measures for security arrangements and to check malpractice.

Padhi asked the SPs to take all possible measure to keep the question papers safe at examination centres and other designated locations.

As many as 5,90,330 examinees are slated to appear the annual tenth exam, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE). The exam will begin from February 23 and will continue till March 8.

Odisha HSC Exam-2018 will be held between 9 AM and 11.30 AM. However, extra 15 minutes will be allotted for the mathematics paper. The board has decided to include 100 more exam centres this year to the existing number of centres.

The hard copies of admit cards will be sent to the examination centres by February 17 while the online admit cards are available on board’s website – www.bseodisha.ac.in.

The school headmasters can download hall tickets for students from BSE’s official website www.bseodisha.ac.in.

Out of 5,90,330 students, as many as 5,67,254 students have filled up forms in regular category and 19,737 students in ex-regular and 2,921 candidates have filled forms to write examination through Correspondence course (regular), sources said.

This year, with an attempt to end malpractice, students will have to appear the exam at centres in other schools instead of at their own respective schools.
