3 Lakh More Beneficiaries Under Social Security Scheme

Bhubaneswar: To counter the bandh call given by Congress party in KBK Bandh, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced to cover 3 lakh more beneficiaries under different social security pension schemes by August 15.

It would have an additional burden of Rs 115 crores on state coffer. So far, 40 lakh people are covered under different social security schemes.

The Chief Minister had announced it earlier at collectors’ conference.

Notably, Congress is observing dawn to dusk shutdown in eight KBK districts demanding proper implementation of FRA Act.
