Seven Injured In Dacoits’ Attack


KENDRAPADA: As many as seven persons, including four women of three families, sustained injuries after five dacoits entered into their houses to rob under Patkura police station of Kedrapada, said police on Friday.

The incident took place on Thursday late night in Samsara, Patana and Jagannathpur villages under Patkura police station.

According to police, five armed dacoits entered into the house of Sadhu Rout of Samsara village by breaking the doors.

When they tried to rob in the house in the night, the family members woke up and protested them. As a result, the dacoits attacked the family members and fled from the spot by decamping the booty.

Later, the dacoits went to Patana village and made an attempt to loot the house of Kamala Mati’s house. They also attacked the family members while the family members protested the dacoit bid, said police.

The five dacoits left the house and later committed a dacoit at the house of Sridhar Nayak of  Jagannathpur village. The miscreants went on assaulting Sridhar Nayak and his family members and looted Rs 5000, a pair of gold rings and a gold chain from his wife and fled from the spot, said police sources.

Patkura police have registered a case and has started conducting raids in different hideouts in the locality.

Police detained a person about this case, informed Annapurna Behera, the IIC of Patkura police station.
