BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha government on Saturday increased the pay of block grant lecturers, teachers and staff by 25%.
While the state government hiked 25% on basic pay, it will be effective retrospectively from June 1, said Higher Education Minister Pradeep Panigrahi.
He said as per the earlier decision, grant-in-aid will replace the block grant system.
Panigrahi also said that basic pay of the block grant teachers and lecturers would be hiked 3% every year.
Lecturers of 662 and 488 category block grant colleges along with lecturers of Sanskrit Colleges will get benefit from the hike.
Another 15 percent hike will be implemented after discussion with the Employees’ Provident Fund office, said sources.
