Council of Architecture Approves 80 B.Arch Seats In Odisha


BHUBANESWAR: The Council of Architecture has granted its approval for imparting five years Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) course in VSSUT, Burla and IGIT Sarang for the academic year 2016-17.

It has accorded its approval for 80 seats for the two government engineering institutions, informed Odisha JEE chairman Tushar Kant Nath.

He said the Council of Architecture had granted approval for 40 seats each in the two institutions.

Classes for the B.Arch course would begin from this academic session 2016-17, he added.

Earlier, the Odisha government had requested the council to inspect both these intuitions.

Five years B.Arch programme had been implemented in Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla and Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT) Sarang since 2014-15.

In the previous years, they have admitted 81 and 68 students respectively in anticipation of approval of Council of Architecture.

Recently, College of Engineering and Technology (CET) Bhubaneswar has got approval for B.Arch course with an intake capacity of 20 seats for the academic session 2016-17.
