BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha government has proposed to set up hostels for working women in seven districts of the state.
The government has proposed to set up seven working women’s hostel in Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Ganjam, Sundargarh, and Dhenkanal. The hostels would accommodate young working women on priority basis for safe accommodation.
Women and Child Development Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev has asked the district collectors to alienate the identified land at the earliest so that the Department could take up construction of the hostels.
“It is understood that DSWOs have already filed alienation proposals. As ascertained over telephone, suitable land has already been identified in the district at designated places. It is requested that the land so identified may please be alienated,” said Dev in a letter.
The working women’s hostel would be constructed at Kalinga Nagar in Jajpur, Paradeep in Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Berhampur in Ganjam, Rourkela in Sundargarh and Dhenkanal.
