‘Check Infighting In Your Party First’

Bhubaneswar: With Congress preparing to observe all Odisha bandh on Mahanadi issue on Tuesday, the ruling BJD and BJP on Monday said the grand old party has given the bandh call only to hide the growing infighting.

They said the party should first check the internal strife and then think of blaming others for the Mahanadi issue.

BJD spokesperson Surya Narayan Patro said after the brewing wrangling spilled over, PCC president Prasad Harichandan gave the bandh call to save the party. He said the bandh would have no impact on BJD as the ruling party is also fighting to save the Mahanadi water.

The state unit of BJP attacked the Congress party for playing politics over the issue.

“The Congress party should not make Odisha its political playground. The bandh call has been given only to hide the infighting,” said BJP leader Prithviraj Harichandan.
