Bhubaneswar: The monsoon session of Odisha Assembly is likely to begin from September 14 this year.

The session will have ten working days, said sources.

Sources said that a proposal had been given to Governor SC Jamir to start monsoon session from September 14.

The government is awaiting the consent of the Governor, sources added.

The state government has lined up several bills to table in the session.

The session is likely to be stormy as the opposition parties would raise several issues including chit fund scam, Kandhamal encounter, the death of children due to malnutrition in Jajpur and Mahanadi water issue.
