Odisha To Showcase Investment Opportunities To China At Make In India Conference

Bhubaneswar: Odisha will showcase its investment opportunities to the investors of China at the Make In India Conference scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar on December 1-2 this year.

Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on Monday held a discussion to this effect with Mr. Johnson, President of India-China Trade and Culture Centre and S.K. Roy, Commerce Secretary, Indian Consulate, Shanghai in secretariat conference hall.

Dr. Sarat Kumar Sahoo, Chairman Odisha Industry Federation was also present on the occasion.

Being encouraged by new IPR policy and ‘ease of doing business environment’ introduced in Odisha, Johnson expressed his willingness to participate in the forthcoming Make in India Conference with a group of investors.

Padhi advised him to bring the investors from the sectors like light engineering, electronic products, and food processing as Odisha has many strength and opportunities in these sectors.

They proposed to come up with a group of 30 potential investors, said an official.

The Chief Secretary advised them to send a list of the companies and industries in advance so that collaboration and matchmaking with local entrepreneurs could be made in advance and their participation would be more outcome oriented.
