Bhubaneswar: With the launch of Reliance Jio, the consumers are facing several problems including call drops and network problems. The internet speed has also plummeted drastically in Odisha.
Initially, the internet speed was more than 21 Mbps. But, people are sharing on social media that it has plummeted to less than 2 Mbps.
However, despite all these problems, the people are making a beeline at the Reliance Digital stores to get Jio SIM cards, which provides lucrative offers on the card.
But, the complaints with Jio have already started flooding.
As per the Jio Welcome program, a consumer can use 4GB of 4G data daily on the Reliance Jio network without paying anything until December 31, 2016.
The free offer has tempted the consumers to grab the opportunity. As a result, the SIM cards have completely vanished from the stores.
There is no SIM in our store. The people have to wait until September 18 – a sales executive at a Reliance Digital store in Bhubaneswar.
Sources said the company is struggling to activate the huge number of SIMs issued to people. It is taking seven to eight days to be activated.
However, that’s not the only problem that people are facing.
The consumers have to stand in line for hours at the outlets only to get a token. Once you get a token, you will be asked to come some other days to get Jio SIM with no guarantee of activation.
That means if you have submitted all relevant documents and got the prized SIM, still you have to wait for a few days to avail the 4G benefits.
