Tata Steel Clinches JSPL Barbil Corporate Table Tennis Tournament Title

Keonjhar: Corporate Table Tennis Tournament organized by Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) Barbil Unit has been completed successfully on Sunday.

Tata Steel Joda (West) emerged victorious and lifted the Corporate Table Tennis Champion title by beating SAIL Meghathaburu by 3-1 set in a neck and neck final match.

The tournament played in Swaythling Cup System witnessed huge response both from the audience watching the matches and team players participating.

EVP & Unit Head, JSPL Barbil, T S Shanbhogue presented the Winner’s Trophy and Gold Medals to the champion team comprising of N N B Rao, Sandeep Chowrasia, and Kalyan Mukherjee.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Shanbhogue expressed pleasure over the successful completion of the tournament and extended heartfelt thanks to the participating teams from different corporate organizations.

He reiterated that JSPL, Barbil will put its all effort to continue these types of tournaments to promote sports.

The Runners’ Up team comprising of Zubair Ansari, Arvind Kumar Singh, and Sujeet Das was given Runners’ Up Trophy and Silver Medal. Team SAIL, Gua secured Third position and bagged Bronze medal by defeating JSPL, Angul team.

Speaking on the occasion, AVP– HR & ES Alok Malhotra said that our region has very good paddlers and these talents have potential to excel at the state and national level.

He congratulated the winners and participating teams on the occasion.

The response and enthusiasm shown by the participants proved the astounding success of this tournament, said Malhotra.

Similarly, all the teams participating in this tournament have also lauded the effort and appreciated the hospitality from JSPL management throughout the tournament.
