Odisha Govt Clears Rs 224 Cr Investment Proposal


Bhubaneswar: The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) of Odisha government on Thursday approved two investment proposals of Rs 224 crore.

The SLSWCA meeting held under the chairmanship of chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi approved the proposals of Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperatives ( IFFCO ) and Wellspun Odisha Steel Pvt Ltd.

The project proposal of IFFCO with an investment of Rs 63.55 crore for setting up a railway siding at new Paradeep station yard was approved at the meeting, said Kalyan Mohanty, general manager of Ipicol.

The project would provide employment to around 97 persons. The project has been targeted to be completed within 14 months, said Mohanty.

Around 49 acres of land required for the siding has also been identified.  IFFCO would also allow other companies to use this siding.

The proposal of Welspun Odisha Pvt Ltd to set up 0.27 MTPA long product (steel) facilities center at Dosingha near Dhamara of Bhadrak district was also approved, said the Ipicol general manager.

The proposal envisaged an investment of around Rs 160.15 crore. The project would provide employment to around 915 persons. The land required for the purpose is around 40 acres, said Mohanty.

The chief secretary also reviewed the progress on investment proposal made during  Make in India week in Mumbai and Odisha Investors Meet in Bengaluru.

The  Odisha government has attracted about Rs 1.61 lakh crore investment from the two invest meets.

In the meanwhile, two companies Geetanjali Exports and Deepak fertilizers have already grounded the project. Similarly, from among the investors met at Bengaluru, around 26 companies have been mobilized to submit detail project proposals envisaging an investment of around Rs 90,670 crore.

Around two companies have also scheduled the grounding of their projects during November 2016.

Padhi advised the departments to fasten the investment intentions by facilitating support.
