Odisha To Issue Notification For Auction Of 4 Mines


Bhubaneswar: Odisha steel and mines minister Prafulla Mallick on Monday said the state government would issue notification for the auction of four mines in the state.

“We would issue notification for the auction of four mines in two-three days. Once the notification is issued, the bidders would be invited to participate in the e-auction process,” said the minister.

He said three limestone mines and one manganese mines would be put on auction.

The state government has auctioned only one iron ore mines so far under the amended MMDR Act.

ESSAR Steel had bagged the Ghorhaburhani-Sagasahi iron ore block, which was auctioned earlier this year. The iron ore block having an estimated reserves of over 99 million tons (MT) is located in Koira area of Keonjhar district.
