Bhubaneswar: A low pressure has formed over the Bay of Bengal, which is likely to bring rainfall to Odisha in the coming days, said Met department on Tuesday.
Under the influence of upper air cyclonic circulation over South Andaman Sea and neighborhood, a low-pressure area has formed over the region, said a bulletin.
“The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level. It is very likely to move Northwestwards and concentrate into a depression during next 24 hours over Southeast Bay of Bengal. Subsequently, it is very likely to intensify further while moving Northwestwards,” it added.
Surface wind speed from Northeasterly direction with speed 35 to 45 kmph would prevail along and off Odisha coast.
As sea condition would be moderate to rough, fishermen are advised to be cautious while venturing into the sea, said the bulletin.
