JSPL Barbil Honored For Outstanding CSR Practices In Keonjhar


Keonjhar: Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL)’s Barbil pelletization unit has been honored for its outstanding performance and best CSR practices on the occasion of the 34th annual conference of Keonjhar District Union of Journalist.

JSPL’s Vice President (VP) VCS Rao and CSR Head Vargil Lakra received the award from Keonjhar SP Rajesh Pandit in the presence of many senior journalists across Odisha.

Receiving the honor, Rao thanked the organizers for this recognition. EVP & Unit Head of JSPL Barbil TS Shanbhogue, congratulating the CSR team for this honor, said that JSPL Barbil unit has been putting its all effort through its sincere and committed CSR initiatives for the comprehensive growth of people in its periphery villages in Keonjhar district.

He attributed the award to the support from the community living in the vicinity of JSPL, for which a win-win situation between JSPL and people has been created.

Congratulating the CSR Team of JSPL Barbil unit, EVP & JSPL Group CSR Head Hota said, “At JSPL, CSR is embedded with the company’s core activities. The social development projects in JSPL are driven by the vision of our Chairman, Naveen Jindal Ji to make a positive contribution to the underprivileged communities. JSPL Foundation, led by Shallu Jindal, has initiated several programs for supporting socio-economic, educational and health initiatives development of people in Odisha”.

It may be noted that JSPL’s CSR activities at Barbil have extended well beyond its business objectives, and the company’s concerns for the society are evident from the various sustainable initiatives it has taken in different fields.

To bring about a radical transformation in the quality of life of the people living in and around the operation areas of the pellet plant, JSPL has been implementing multidimensional social development initiatives in its periphery villages and also for the families living in the vicinity.

It has been working on the key areas like Health & Hygiene, Education, Vocational Training & Women Empowerment, Livelihood, Livestock Care, Drinking Water & Sanitation, Youth & Sports and Infrastructure Development.
