Youth Stabs Girl In Khimji Jewellery Shop

Bhubaneswar: A woman staff of Khimji jewellery shop in Chandrasekharpur area of Bhubaneswar was injured after a store keeper stabbed her from back on Saturday.

The injured girl identified as Bishnupriya Paikray has been admitted in a private hospital in the Chandrasekharpur area.

The girl was working as a sales executive in the jewellery shop.

Police said the incident took place when the woman was having lunch at the canteen of the shop.

The victim had an exchange of words with store keeper Nikhil Jena following which the latter allegedly stabbed a knife in her back, said police.

Police have started investigation into the incident. Meanwhile, the accused has gone absconding.

However, the reason behind the incident is yet to be known, said police.

Police said they will analyse the CCTV camera installed near the spot. The incident is believed to have been captured by the camera.
