Odisha Govt Likely To Release Many Convicts Languishing In Jails

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is likely to release many convicts from several jails based on good conduct, said an official on Thursday.

It was decided at the State Sentence Review Board convened in the Home Department to recommend premature release of life convicts after a gap of three years.

“Many convicts with long incarceration are likely to be released based on good conduct and recommendations from district  and jail authorities,” said the official.
