No water bottle during India-England cricket match at Barabati stadium


Cuttack: Ahead of the One-Day International match between India and England on January 19 next year, the Odisha Cricket Administration (OCA) on Tuesday decided that all the galleries of the Barabati stadium in  Cuttack will be enclosed with nets.

Besides, carrying of water bottles into the stadium will be prohibited during the match, informed Revenue Divisional Commissioner (central) Akhila Bihari Ota.

A decision in this regard was taken at a preparatory meeting chaired by the RDC on Tuesday.

He said while all the galleries would be covered with the net so that no stuff can be thrown onto the field. He, however, said adequate water would be provided to the spectators even though water bottles would not be allowed to the stadium.

OCA secretary Ashirbad Behera said as many as 132 CCTV cameras will be installed at the stadium during the match.

He informed that selling of tickets to OCA affiliated bodies will be held on January 14 and 15.

The tickets for the public will be sold at stadium counters on January 16 and 17, he added.
