Bhubaneswar: To ensure security and smooth traffic management, at least 114 integrated closed circuit television cameras (CCTVs) will be installed at around 28 strategic locations in the capital city of Odisha here.
Sources said a multinational firm has partnered with Odisha Police to carry out the project in the city.
The systems are expected to be installed and functional in the city in the next two-three months.
“The project will also cover installation of red-light violation detection systems and advanced video analytics to help alert police about traffic violations and enable prompt incident management,” sources added.
Commissionerate police officials said the system would make law and order and traffic management seamless.
Selected officers of Commissionerate police would be trained on ways to handle these systems, they added.
Earlier in 2015, around 114 CCTVs were installed at 28 locations here.
