SCB medical college girl brings harassment charges against seniors

Cuttack: A fourth year MBBS girl student at SCB Medical College and Hospital here on Thursday levelled serious allegations of lewd remarks, misbehavior and harassment against her male seniors.

She has lodged a FIR with Mangalabag Police Station alleging that she was abused and harassed by her seniors on Wednesday night during a function on the premises.

Moreover, the victim apologized to her senior and despite her apology she was harassed, the complainant said.

According to sources, Case is registered at Mangalabag Police station under Sec 341, 294, 354, 509, 34 of IPC based on the FIR filed by the girl student.

“Some people started creating nuisance. They started shouting using slang language. The said a lot which I could not bear and I replied back. Later on we came to know that they were our seniors. Then we decided to apologize. However, after that the whole batch have been calling meetings and harassing us regularly despite out apologies,” said the complainant.

While the police have recorded the victim’s statement under section 161 of CrPC, investigation is on.
